SUN AT LAST!

Sun at last!

It's been torture waiting for enough sun to get varnish on my first skiff build  but it all came together for the bank holiday Monday and boy what a day for launching a new rowboat! The sun was out and the sky was clear.

I'm very pleased with the skiff.  I opted to build the two oared version, but thought it might be pushing it a bit however as it turns out when you're solo she rows trim when rowed from the first seat, with two on board and being rowed from the bow end, she handles just as well.

We rowed up to Boutlers round the back waters, then headed downstream under Maidenhead Bridge, past Guards Club Island, under Brunel's Bridge and a little down stream...Lovely!
